I don’t know where to start but I’ll start from when I got saved. I dedicated my life to Christ at a very tender age of 9. I honestly didn’t know what I was doing, I just thought if I did this then I could go to heaven. Obviously now I know that wasn’t the right assumption. Before I really came to know Christ I was in the world. I did everything my unbeliever friends did; we were inseparable. After awhile I got tired of living that life. I just somehow knew I had a better and greater calling. The Lord was calling me and I could feel it! The one person who has helped me get to where I am is my Auntie Frannie, without her I don’t know if I would still be continuing my Christian walk. “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.” (Proverbs22:6). I always remember preaching that verse to us in church and I felt that she was speaking to me personally whenever she said that verse. I just didn’t know how to heed to it.
Then I went to my first camp with Rev Oko in 2011 and I believe my life was totally turned around. The theme of the camp was “Seasons of Warnings”. I learned so much and I knew I was a changed person by the time I went home. I now know the true meaning of salvation. I once thought that quiet times weren’t important can you say “What a shock”!! After that camp in 2011, I now I see the importance of a quiet time. I used to do mine once in a while but then one day I was asked the question “What is your relationship like with God? How often do you speak to Him?” I then realized I didn’t have a good relationship with God at all because I wasn’t communicating with Him daily through my quiet time. David said In Psalm 63 that he “earnestly sought for God”. That’s how we should be in our daily walk with Him. What also helped me striving to do my quiet time daily was Bishop Dag's message “The Source of Strength”. In that message, He said that your quite time is the most important time of the day. As children of God, we must strive to know God and doing your quiet time every day will definitely help! Hope all who read were blessed by my testimony. Thanks for the opportunity to share it.
