Hi my name is David and I’m reading the book “The Mega Church”.
Job 8:7 “Though thy beginning was small, yet thy latter end should greatly increase”
This verse is the first verse that Bishop gives in the book, “The Mega Church”. I found this to be greatly significant. This verse has stuck with me, and has comforted me when rejected by others because of my faith. What revelation I got from this, was that no matter how small you start your ending will be great!!! My dad always preaches about how he moved from a big church in New York, to the “Upper room” as LCI was called then. Though we started small our ending result is great - A great international church with over 1,200 churches with a burning passion for the Lord.
Another revelation I got from this verse is that when our latter end is so prosperous, we won’t desire the worldly things
any more. At a youth retreat, Brother Charles, described how if we suffer in the flesh, we will enjoy in the spirit. At one point I played soccer for the town we live in, it was a very time -consuming program, and I remember telling my coach that I couldn't make early Sunday games, because of church. At one point I was cut from the team because of it, but my father preached about how when you sacrifice for the sake of the Lord, he will remember you. I have been blessed greatly since, and I don't have any desire for worldly things anymore. I died in the flesh so I can live one day in the spirit, and now I lead prayer in our Saved.
Another verse that blessed me greatly from the book, is Mark 16:15-16“And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned”. This verse, told me that I have a purpose on his Earth, God didn't put us on Earth just to be here, but he wants us to preach the Gospel to others as it says in Job 8:7 no matter how small you smart, by the grace of God your latter endings will be great!
